Founded in 1996 by Winemaker Greg Brewer, Brewer-Clifton crafts estate Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay and Pinot Noir at its Lompoc winery.
Brewer-Clifton was founded in 1996 by Greg Brewer with original partner Steve Clifton, and its wines are produced and bottled in Lompoc. Founder and winemaker Greg Brewer has devoted his entire three-decade career to cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills appellation, which he helped map and establish in 1997. He began in wine at Santa Barbara Winery in 1991 and also makes the Diatom and Ex Post Facto labels. The wines are 100% estate, with all estate vineyards certified sustainable through two third-party audited programs, Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing (CCSW) and Sustainable in Practice (SIP). Pinot Noir is raised through whole-cluster fermentation and Chardonnay in neutral cooperage, aiming to let each vineyard speak. Public tastings are hosted at the Brewer-Clifton tasting room in Los Olivos (2367 Alamo Pintado Ave), open Wednesday-Sunday, appointments preferred.
