Melville Winery has been growing wine in the Sta. Rita Hills since 1996, farming cold-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Grenache entirely on land the family owns and tends itself. The estate on Highway 246 outside Lompoc reflects three decades of what the Melvilles call winegrowing — working in harmony with nature through organic and sustainable farming practices. Visitors can book estate experiences at the winery or stop by the tasting lounge in downtown Santa Barbara, and a customizable three-tier wine club delivers releases in winter, spring, and fall.
