About this place
Flying Goat Cellars was founded in 2000 by winemaker Norm Yost and has been dedicated to producing ageworthy Pinot and sparkling wine ever since, releasing its first Pinot Noir in 2002. In 2008 the winery purchased production space at Crown Laurel in the Lompoc Wine Ghetto and opened its tasting room. Kate Griffith joined in 2010, and their partnership grew into what the winery calls a 'family of wines.' The label focuses on single-vineyard Pinot Noir sourced from the Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Maria Valley, alongside Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and its 'Goat Bubbles' sparkling wines. Flying Goat launched Club Celebrate in 2011, billed as the first sparkling wine club in Santa Barbara County, and earned Best in Class and the Red Sweepstakes at the 2007 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Walk-ins are welcome at the tasting room.
