SpaceX Falcon 9 to Launch Classified USSF-432 Mission from Vandenberg Friday

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to launch the classified USSF-432 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Friday, November 6, with a launch window opening at 4:46 p.m. Pacific Time and extending through 8:46 p.m.

The mission is being conducted on behalf of the U.S. Space Force. If needed, a backup launch opportunity has been set for Saturday, November 7, starting at 4:32 p.m. Pacific Time. SpaceX will stream the launch live beginning about ten minutes before liftoff on their website and social media channels.

Booster Recovery and Sonic Booms

After the first stage separates, the Falcon 9 booster will return to Earth and land on the droneship "Of Course I Still Love You" stationed in the Pacific Ocean. This will be the eighth flight for this particular booster, which previously launched GPS III-8 and six Starlink missions.

Residents across the region may hear one or more sonic booms during the launch, though how far the sound travels will depend on weather and atmospheric conditions at the time. For more space launch news from Vandenberg, visit our news page.
