Tonight in Lompoc: A Free Medi-Cal Town Hall, With Dinner and Interpreters

County Health hosts a Medi-Cal coverage town hall at El Camino School tonight, 5:30–7:30 p.m. Free, dinner included, Spanish and Mixtec interpretation.

If Medi-Cal is part of how your household stays covered, tonight is worth the drive across town. The County of Santa Barbara Health Department is hosting a free Medi-Cal town hall in Lompoc — Wednesday, August 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the El Camino School auditorium, doors at 5.

The point is practical: how to keep your Medi-Cal coverage through the changes rolling out this year, and where the local help is when something goes sideways. County Health staff and community health partners will be there to answer questions and connect people with resources in person, not through a phone tree.

The details that matter

It's free, and dinner is included. Interpretation will be available in Spanish and Mixtec. The county asks that you register in advance so they can plan seating and food — but if you're reading this at 5 o'clock, go anyway.

Lompoc has a lot of families on Medi-Cal, and a lot of small-business owners and their employees who quietly depend on it. An evening like this — county staff, in our town, in our languages — is the kind of thing that only helps if people show up. See it on the events calendar.
