Lompoc Teen Center's free Pathways career conference opens to teens countywide Nov. 7

The third annual conference at Lompoc High School is free for students in grades 7-12, with hands-on career workshops, a career and college fair, and meals included. Space is limited to 300.
The Lompoc Teen Center's Pathways career conference is growing. For its third year, the free one-day event on Saturday, Nov. 7, is open to students in grades 7 through 12 from across Santa Barbara County, not just Lompoc.
The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lompoc High School. Each student takes part in four interactive workshops led by working professionals, with fields this year including animal science, business administration, cybersecurity, engineering, fashion and modeling, law, sports medicine and the union trades. There is also a career and college fair and a showcase of student internship and work-based learning projects.
Breakfast, lunch and conference merchandise are included, and prizes will be given away. Free round-trip buses will run from Santa Barbara, San Marcos and Dos Pueblos high schools for students coming from the south county.
Space is limited to 300 students, and registration in advance is required. Parents and guardians can sign students up at lompocteencenter.org/pathways. The event is presented with the Endowment for Youth Committee/Community and supported by partners including Lompoc Unified School District and Allan Hancock College.
