White Buffalo Land Trust Hosts Fall Open House at Jalama Canyon Ranch Oct. 10
The free community event features interactive stations on regenerative agriculture, live music, and an optional ranch cookout lunch at the 1,000-acre Lompoc property.
White Buffalo Land Trust is opening the gates to Jalama Canyon Ranch on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for its annual Fall Open House and Ranch Cookout. The free community event invites neighbors to explore the 1,000-acre Center for Regenerative Agriculture in Lompoc and see how regenerative practices are being applied across a working landscape.
Guests can move at their own pace between interactive stations led by WBLT staff and regional partners. Topics include soil health, biodiversity, ecological monitoring, watershed restoration, conservation planning, perennial crop systems, habitat enhancement, and land stewardship. Partners joining this year include the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Nature's Engineers, SLO Beaver Brigade, Community Environmental Council, Coyote's Market, and the Audubon Society.
Cookout, Music, and Products from the Ranch
After a morning of exploration, guests can gather at Basecamp for a ranch cookout prepared by Chef Pierre Tremblay featuring ingredients from the ranch. Live music will be provided by Central Coast bluegrass band Salty Strings. An optional cookout lunch is available for $25 per person with advance registration.
WBLT Artist-in-Residence Nathan Sherwood Liang will offer an artistic perspective on the day, inviting guests to experience the landscape through sound. Guests can also take home products from WBLT's food brand, Figure Ate, and other offerings from the ranch.
