Lompoc Animal Shelter Temporarily Closed Due to Computer System Outage
Santa Barbara County Animal Services has temporarily closed its Lompoc shelter along with locations in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria due to a computer system outage affecting adoptions and licensing.
The Santa Barbara County Animal Services shelter in Lompoc is temporarily closed due to a computer system outage, officials announced Thursday. The closure also affects shelters in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria.
The outage has disrupted the software used for adoptions, intakes, lost pet reunification, and licensing. Officials have not said how long the shelters will remain closed.
Stray Animals Still Accepted
While the shelters are closed to the public, animals already in care will continue to receive normal care. Stray animal intakes are still available at all three locations, but people need to call 833-422-8413 before arriving so a staff member can meet them at the door.
