The Waxed Honey started in 2020 as a one-woman studio and has grown into one of Lompoc's most loved self-care spots. Founder Mikailah Mendek, an esthetician since 2015, built the salon around a simple idea: hair removal should feel normal, comfortable, and genuinely professional — especially for services that can feel vulnerable. Today the salon runs on a small team of dedicated waxers. Anayeli Orozco, with the salon since 2023, specializes in brows and Brazilians and serves Spanish-speaking clients in their own language; Jazzie Olsen, waxing since 2022, covers Brazilians and all things body waxing. Clients — the "Honeys," as the salon calls them — book ahead online, and the vibe is equal parts spa care and girlfriend energy.
