Since 1969, Alfie's Fish & Chips has served authentic English-style fish and chips in Lompoc. Originally part of a franchise, it is now the last Alfie's standing, located at 610 North H Street since 2019. Founded by Scottish couple Jack and Margaret Cairney, the restaurant passed to Colleen Staffel and then to Mike and Nellie Sewall in 2001, who have preserved its quaint English feel and family atmosphere — right down to the red telephone box out front. The kitchen fries everything in 100% pure peanut oil, and the menu runs from classic fish and chips, seafood combos, scallop and calamari dinners to clam chowder and coconut shrimp. Taco Tuesday brings fish tacos with homemade pico de gallo, cabbage, and house-made Nellie Sauce, served all day. Open Monday through Saturday 11am–7:40pm; closed Sundays.
