Lompoc Murals Walking Tour

Downtown Lompoc has more than 70 large murals painted right onto the buildings, and once you start noticing them you cannot stop. Turn a corner off H Street and there is Chumash history on a wall two stories tall. Walk another block and it is the valley's farming past, or a scene from the town's own story. There is no ticket and no gate. The whole downtown is the gallery, and the art is just there for anyone walking by. Do it self-guided at your own pace, look up and down the side streets, and let yourself backtrack when something catches you. It is the kind of thing locals drive past a hundred times before they finally slow down and really see it.
